What is your advice about? Being an RQT

Don’t expect it to be easier than your NQT year.

Teaching a full timetable is a new skill to learn. You will not be able to give individual classes the same time and attention you did when you were teaching fewer hours.

You will, however, surprise yourself at how much more efficient you are at certain tasks – like marking.

In my experience, naughty kids begin to accept defeat when you teach them for a second year.

Always remember that you are being paid far less than the more experienced members of your department for a reason. You can’t expect to know everything yet.
